in Motor Vehicle Defense  and Pharmaceutical Litigation

ORLANDO, FL -- Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell has expanded its national product liability practice with the addition of Larry M. Roth as a partner based in Orlando. Roth, P.A, where he concentrated on representing motor vehicle manufacturers in lawsuits involving auto product liability; insurance defense law and commercial litigation. Joining Roth at Rumberger will be associate Neil P. Di Spirito and four additional support staff members.

“We are pleased to have Larry and his team join our firm,” said Frank Sheppard, Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell’s Managing Partner.  “Our firm was originally built on its outstanding product liability practice more than 30 years ago, and many regard us as one of the leading automotive litigation defense practices. The addition of Larry and his team advances our efforts to grow one of our core practice areas and provide continued service to our clients on a regional and national basis.”

Rumberger’s representative clients in the industry include top manufacturers such as Hyundai, Black & Decker, Nissan, Bombardier, Toyota, Allison Transmissions, Harley Davidson, Polaris Industries and General Motors.

Roth, who has been litigating product cases since 1981, has handled cases for American Suzuki Motor Corporation, Kia Motors America, Inc. and Kubota Tractor Corporation, among others, and Roth’s group has also handled FDA regulatory work and licensing agreements for several small to mid-size pharmaceutical companies.

“Automotive product liability cases require complex, specialized technical investigations and forensic testing, as well as the ability to manage extensive document and deposition discovery,” said Roth. “Rumberger Kirk & Caldwell has the resources and reputation of a high level defense practice, and a compatible client base, so it’s a natural fit for us.”
