David Emas focuses his practice in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith and casualty litigation.
Prior to entering private practice, David served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, David represented the State of Florida in sixty bench trials and thirty-five jury trials. He obtained a guilty of all counts verdict in a trial subjected to broad media coverage across the United States. David frequently attended court hearings, litigated a wide range of motions, conducted and defended depositions, as well as trained new Assistant State Attorneys in a variety of prosecutor responsibilities. Additionally, David represented the Eleventh Judicial Circuit at the Florida Commission on Offender Review parole hearings. Later, David was assigned to the Homicide Unit, Traffic Fatality Unit and the Economic Crimes Division where he handled high profile cases.
David received his law degree from the Fredric G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. He was a Dean’s Scholar and a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing, Appellate Advocacy and Trial Practice courses. David served as the Chairman of The Levin College of Law Honor Code Committee, as Treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta and as Secretary of the Jewish Law Student Association. Furthermore, he was an active member of the Lubavitch Chabad Jewish Center at the University of Florida.
In 2010, David received his undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.
